EX-PARAMORE GUITARIST STARTS NEW BAND

EX-PARAMORE GUITARIST STARTS NEW BAND 2/3/2011
Ex-Paramore guitarist Josh Farro has started a new band, barely two months after departing from his former group. The new act is called Novel American and Farro told MTV News it consists of guys he first met in high school. He explained, "We connected after high school, and we got together later the whole Paramore thing, and I was like, 'I don't know if I wish to be in another band.

But I called the guys, we got together, we wrote and we jammed, and it was great, so we decided, 'Let's do another band.' And, honestly, I had some ideas that simply didn't fit with Paramore, and I said, 'Guys, we can try these,' and they just loved them, and so that's really how it all started."

  • The early three members of the group are formerly from a Nashville band called Cecil Adora.
  • Farro said nearly the band, "We need to be a new breath of new air to the music scene. We all love Jimmy Eat World, so it's difficult not to go like them, but there's a slight of everything in there. We're huge fans of Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Explosions In The Sky . . . there's everything in there, really."
  • The band intends to read an EP and bring some shows about the Nashville area for now, with future plans yet to be finalized.
  • Farro also said that the new band will serve him put the drama surrounding his break from Paramore behind him, explaining, "I believe we just disagree on a lot of things, and that's OK . . . I just like them the better in the future, and I truly don't need to have it this huge drama thing, because so it becomes this huge war, and I don't need to live on that."
  • Farro and his brother, ex-Paramore drummer Zac Farro, left the circle in December after six years. The Farros published a statement online accusing singer Hayley Williams, her parents and management of treating the balance of the group like hired hands, which Williams has denied.
