By: Justin BriggsParamore is a pop rock band from Franklin, TN. Band members include: lead vocalist Hayley Williams, lead guitarist Josh Farro, bassist Jeremy Davis, and drummer Zac Farro. Taylor York plays rhythm guitar during performances. At the age of 13, Williams moved from her hometown of Meridian, Mississippi to Tennessee, where she met brothers, Josh and Zac Farro.
Prior to forming Paramore, Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis took office in a funk cover band called the Factory. Paramore officially came together in 2004. The name Paramore came from a friend of the bands mothers first name, and later finding the significance of the same-sounding word paramour (secret lover), the ring took up the name Paramore. Jimmy Eat World and Sunny Day Real Estate are considered to be two of their primary influences.Hayley Williams and Josh Farro are the group's principal songwriters. Farro usually first writes the music, then takes it to Williams for melody and lyrics. The remaining band members then start working on good and arrangement. The duo's songwriting has been called "contrastly cliched and light at points," while others have said the songs are "ridiculously catchy" and "sing-a-long worthy."Paramore's rise to fame was speedy and concluded a short stop of time. Paramore was signed to Fueled By Ramen in April of 2005. The music community first took note of the ring when Paramore released their debut album, "All We Love Is Falling," in the summer of 2005. It includes the singles "Pressure" and "Emergency". The New York Times and Spin praised the album, pointing out
Hayley as a sensation in the making.Paramore also released an EP titled The Summer Tic in 2006, and Riot! in 2007. The band found mainstream success with their 2nd album Riot! which was certified gold in the U.S. The low one from the album, "Misery Business", received extensive radio airplay and allowed for MTV to have the circle in Artist of the Week segments during August of 2007. The New York Times and Spin praised the Riot! album, pointing out Hayley as a wizard in the making. Riot! definitely shows off the band's mature music and lyrics. The album was produced by David Bendeth, who worked with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Hawthorne Heights. The medicine in Riot! took on a richer, deeper, more intense tone, without sacrificing any of the melodicism that has been their trademark. As Hayley explains, For us, the title RIOT! literally means an unbridled outburst of emotions. When we were writing, it seemed like our thoughts and emotions were coming out so tight that we couldnt hold them. It felt like there was a scream within us. So the album takes our love to a new level; its just all raw energy. The ring began nonstop touring throughout 2006, playing popular festivals, such as Warped Tour and Bamboozle. In the return of 2006, the band played on a sold-out headlining tour in the U.S. and continued touring in both Eu and Japan. After an huge response to their U.K. tour at the end of 2006, Paramore was voted as the Best New Set and Hayley as the #2 Sexiest Female," by Kerrang! readers. NME named Paramore one of the ten acts to check in their New Noise 2007 feature, declaring Williams as young, articulate and with mass to say. Paramore does not let these titles intimidate them. I love getting all the Next Big Thing notices, says Hayley with a smile. Josh adds, The first few years everything was new to us and we made a key for ourselves as a lot in a lot of places. But with RIOT!, were really ready to waste peoples minds. Riot! certainly blew the minds of Paramore's fans, as easily as critics.Paramore was recently nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy at the 2008 Grammy Awards, along with artists Taylor Swift, Amy Winehouse, Feist, andParamore has shown that they aren't just another rock band. Their gift and dedication has proved that they can cover almost anything thrown their way. We all make such a bed and love for this music, says Josh. Were favorable to get made such a link with our fans that were making a conflict in their lives. Hayley concludes, We want everyone to see this album. We need to get it as far as we can. RIOT! is alwaysything we ever precious to say on one album. If it all ended today, this is what wed need to be remembered for.Justin BriggsAuthor Bio
