Paramore
Date: 11th November 2010
Venue: Sheffield Arena
Support: fun. & B.O.B

I was introduced to Paramore almost six days ago by Kerrang! Magazine. It was giving off a complimentary CD with every buy and on which the single `Emergency` was introduced to me.

After learning every son of the strain and becoming more curious about the set itself, I searched for their EP and became a vast fan of Hayley Williams, her voice, and her charisma and spirit towards her music. I have previously seen Paramore in concert twice - Once at M.E.N arena and the back time at Leeds Festival - So, to see them in a much smaller venue (although not as small as what I trust will come again one day) was a bonus for me.

The lights went down, darkening the present and allowing the push to prove their enthusiasm for what they`d been waiting for. They went crazy for what and who they knew was near to be shown in presence of them, live and `real`. The low notes of Ignorance started playing, altered slightly to prolong Paramore`s presence on stage, teasing the crew after appearing as silhouettes behind a great white curtain. The lights flashed more vigorously and to the cadence of the upcoming song, which arrived soon after as the mantle fell down to reveal Paramore. Hayley, sporting a new pink hair colour, a different feeling from her trademark orange and red, bounded roughly on stage, full of vigor and inclined to nurse the thousands of mass that are supported her and the balance of the ring by being there, ready and screaming. She wore a white `B.O.Y` tank top, black trousers, braces and military boots, looking as hot and feisty as ever. Hanging from above the point were five large photo frames, representing the band`s new album `Brand New Eyes`, each of which showed a different camera angle of the band, and allowed the crowd nearer the cover of the field a much clearer sight of the performance.

Immediately afterward the opening song, they followed with Feeling Sorry, the crowd enthusiastically singing along to every son and reach out to Hayley as she moved nearer to the edge of the stage. The music stopped short as Hayley stood on a large amp, looking into the crew with no house of movement - tantalising them and allowing them to achieve their peak energy levels whilst the thunder of cheers filled the arena. She then introduced the ring with the identifiable shout of `WE. ARE. PARAMORE` before allowing the band, and herself, to complete their song.

Hayley bounded to the face of the point as Paramore continued their set, and sang the start origin of That`s What You Get before allowing the herd to get over her presence of band role for the next verse. The set list continued with For a Pessimist, I`m Pretty Optimistic, then the call which introduced me to the band Emergency, and continued with Playing God and Decode. It was clear that the bulk of the fans present were `new`, singing along more confidently and knowingly to newer songs, such as the Twilight famed Decode. However, there were still plenty of fans passionate and alert throughout the length of the old material in the set list.

The music eased and the pointd darkened as Hayley and Josh took to the stage with an acoustic guitar. Hayley announced that they had yet to do this strain on the tour, an exciting and special occurrence for all fans, feeling honoured that they chose Sheffield as their first acoustic performance of their well known song Never Let This Go. After this performance, the band reunited on stageas the lights once again beamed, to display a new set up on stage involved two sofas, three acoustic guitars, one electric and a microphone. They continued their acoustic set with When It Rains, Where The Lines Overlap, and Misguided Ghosts.

The acoustic break didn`t live too long before the band threw themselves into another upbeat and invigorating performance. The crew jumped continuously to the meter of Crushcrushcrush, slowing down, but with even as much force in their voices whilst Pressure was performed and Hayley once again allowed them to carry over singing. Attention was taken off from Hayley for a few moments whilst the bassist Jeremy flipped over Josh`s back whilst still playing the bass - a welcomed shock to all, before Hayley once again took over and encouraged a round pit in the crowd. After Looking Up was a beautiful performance of The Only Exception, always my favourite performance of the Paramore concerts, due to Hayley encouraging the crew to take up anything that they have that lights up, allowing the area to burn with waving white lights.

Finally, the encore arrived, allowing theband to do their long awaited songs Brick by Boring Brick and Misery Business, in which Paramore invited a member of the audience up on stage to do with the set and over her night, as the residue of the arena overlooked with full eyes and envy.
