When it was proclaimed this past weekend that brothers Zac and Josh Farro were resigning from Paramore - effective immediately - the band`s official camp tried to put as lots of a positive spin on it as possible. They issued a statement wishing the brothers the better in their future endeavors and thanking fans, in advance, for sticking with them through the transition.
But, in truth, it appears as if the part was not as clear cut or hunky-dory as all that.
Guitarist Josh Farro says that he and his brother left the band acrimoniously, tired of fooling themselves into thinking it was a real band when, according to them, it had really become the solo project of lead singer Hayley Williams, for all intents and purposes. "In reality, what started as natural somehow morphed into a manufactured product of a major label, riding on the coattails of `Hayley`s dream,`" writes Farro, who discloses that things started to further deteriorate after he and Williams "dated and broke up" during the band`s `Riot` era.
The balance of the statement reads almost like a WikiLeak cable, detailing inside power struggles, differences and personnel changes. "The purpose of this argument was not to belittle or disgrace the balance of the band," writes Farro. "It was but to elucidate our decision for going and our hope to finally tell you guys the truth." The entire statement is worth reading.
But wait! It gets juicier. After Paramore`s camp questioned the legitimacy of the blog entry, Farro posted a picture on his personal blogspot page in which the guitarist, somberly, confirms that his and Zach`s statements were the actual deal.
"I recognize there are a lot of rumors going round that it wasn`t from us. But it is," he says, sighing. "I love that makes some of you glad and about of you unhappy and, uh - there`s not much I can do."
