Rock icon tells fans she 'believes' in the Claret and Amber
One of the world`s top rock stars is backing Stuart McCall`s Claret and Amber troops in Saturday`s Scottish Cup Final.
Hayley Williams, the 22-year-old singer with hard rock superstars Paramore, wrote "I trust in MFC!" to a Well fanatic on the website Twitter.
Ross McClenaghan had Tweeted the principal as Well fans drum up patronage for the Steelmen ahead of the weekend.
The thought came from Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy, who has used to Twitter account to get fans to see who the most illustrious person is that they can get to support Motherwell this week.
Ross, 22, loves the American rockers and co-runs a Paramore fans site in his free time. He has even met Hayley and was not surprised when the singer got in touch.
Ross, a sales assistant in Motherwell`s Asda store, said: "I'm charmed to say I know Hayley and that she is an awesome girl.
"She's always up for being supportive and serving people out so it comes as no storm that she decided to serve me out with Jamie Murphy's competition.
"I give two passions in life - Motherwell FC and Paramore. I see every Motherwell home match and I've seen Paramore nine times - six of those on the final tour they did here."
Ross is as mad for the Motherwell v Celtic clash at Hampden as the start time he got the opportunity to see his idol.
And predictably for the man who splits his time between Motherwell FC and Paramore, he brought Hayley a few goodies from the Fir Park club shop to make her.
He said: "I first met Hayley last year on the November 8 in Nottingham. I had a touch and greet with the circle so I decided I was definitely going to get her something from the Motherwell club shop.
"I finally went for a Claret and Amber wristband and a scarf. She loved the colors and said 'it's like Harry Potter's`."
"I am thrilled that Hayley believes in Motherwell for Saturday and I'll be trusted to let her know how we get on. She may not be at Hampden but I'm sure she'll be there in spirit."
