Josh - who is running with Van Beasley, Tyler Ward and Ryan Clark in New American - said: "Basically, I met these guys in high school, and we got together later the whole Paramore thing, and I was like, 'I don't know if I wish to be in another band.' We've ever been treated as less significant than Hayley. Things changed and this band became all about Hayley.

He said: "My wife came up with the ring name, because we were passing through quite a long list - it got to the place where it was consuming our minds, because it was exciting - and she was like, 'What about Novel American?'
